“The fight for frequencies is over” TrackSpacer is a 32-band EQ that analyses a track via an external sidechain and then applies the opposing frequency curve to the track you place the plug-in on in real time. As implied by name, TrackSpacer cleverly creates space or room in a mix for any instrument, voice, or other audio source by performing automatic, multi-band equalisation on a per track basis. But how, exactly, does it do that, then? Quite simply, it analyses the audio frequency content in a track/bus via Sidechain, and applies an intelligent 32-band EQ to subtract those frequencies from the channel/bus where TrackSpacer is inserted — giving room or space to a specific track by reducing its frequencies on another track in realtime, in other words! It is not a multiband compressor, it is not a dynamic EQ, it’s a completely new approach.

In the mix:
TrackSpacer is versatile and can be used in many different situations. For example, a very basic use is to duck on the bass the frequencies that the kick drum is using. Simply insert TrackSpacer in the bass track and have it listen to the kick track via sidechain, adjust the filters and set the ratio knob. Decide if you want TrackSpacer to subtract frequencies in the entire stereo, or only in the mid channel. Another use is for post production, when a voiceover has to speak on the top of a background music. Set the plugin so it reduces the frequencies that the voice uses to the background music. There are many more uses like “acoustic guitar – electric guitars”, “snare drum – overheads”, “snare – synths”.

Blue Cat’s PatchWork is a universal plug-ins patchbay that can host up to 64 VST plug-ins into any Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) in one instance. It is possible to chain effects in series or create up to 8 parallel chains that can be activated independently. This lets you create your favorite effects or instruments configurations within the plug-in, without the need for multiple busses. AB_LM is a gain control which enables level matched and sample accurate AB comparison of FX chains. Plugin (FX) or even a complex FX chain to the sound. Most DAWs can easily enable/disable (AB) single plugins or even whole FX chains, but in most case there is an audible loudness difference between both cases. In order to compare the impact of a plugin chain objectively the loudness of the incoming signal should match with the loudness of outgoing signal. Comparing the plugin effect at equal loudness levels avoids the “louder is better” – pitfall.

Mode & Link Channel
Sets the mode of the plugin, either Sender or Receiver and the link channel for the communication. Sender is placed before the plugin(s) which should be AB level matched, Receiver is inserted after.

Latency Compensation
Some plugins add latency to the plugin chain. For a sample-exact AB loudness comparison audio streams need to be synchronized. This can be done automatically (just press PDC button and wait 1-2 seconds) or manually by entering the latency value (in samples).

Pre-FX Loudness
This meter shows the current and maximum loudness of the audio stream just before the plugin(s). Many plugins work best at a certain loudness level (e.g. -18 dBFS)

Post-FX Gain
This meter shows the loudness difference of pre and post-FX signal. The match button lets you set the additional post-FX gain (match mode “manual”) based on current loudness difference. Match mode “Auto” does this automatically.

Match Modes
AB-LM lets you match the loudness either manually, or automatically.
The mode “Gain Stage” works differently: The additional FX drive gain is just removed from the audio stream right after the FX chain for “pure” gain staging purposes.

Snapshot Slots
AB_LM provides 4 snapshot slots to store and recall settings for FX drive and Post-FX gain. So you can test your plugin chain with different gain levels, all loudness matched.

FX Drive
This parameter adjusts the additional pre-FX gain.

AB Switch
This button lets you seamless switch between pre and pre-FX audio signal.

Pre-FX Gain
This meter shows how close the loudness of the incoming signal is matched with a certain reference level. Many engineers work with loudness calibrated audio systems.

This bundle contains all three of our plug-in products: the Brilliance Pack, TG Mastering Pack and TG12413 Limiter – in native or TDM formats The native bundle provides them in RTAS, AU and VST formats. The TDM Bundle provides them in TDM/RTAS formats.

The Brilliance Pack provides authentic emulations of the EMI RS127 and RS135 EQ units, which were built in the early 1960s to supplement the EQ on the legendary REDD mixing consoles. These ‘presence boxes’ were used on countless seminal recordings at Abbey Road during the ’60s, including almost every album by The Beatles.

The TG Mastering Pack provides authentic emulations of EQ and filter modules from the original EMI TG12410 transfer console. These consoles were custom-built for EMI’s studios and have been the centrepiece of Abbey Road’s mastering rooms for more than 30 years.

The TG12413 plug-in is an authentic emulation of the compressor / limiter from the legendary EMI TG12345 mixing console, which was used on many classic recordings such as The Beatles’ Abbey Road and Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon. The TG12345 consoles were custom-built for EMI’s studios and were never sold commercially.

RS124 Compressor Plug-In provides authentic emulations of the valve compressors that were introduced in 1960 and in constant use at the studios throughout the decade. This IS the sound of Abbey Road 60s recordings! Their warm, creamy sonic personality and unique features such as the “HOLD” function made them the compressor of choice for recording, mixing and mastering. Each unit was hand-built and exclusive to Abbey Road Studios and are still in use at the studios today.
